Custom avatars per plan: HeyGen, Colossyan, Tavus, Teams, Sume
Custom avatars each plan lists: HeyGen 1 to 10+, Colossyan 15 or 20, Tavus 0 to 7, Teams 3. Sume prices each new avatar at $0.95; no plan cap is listed.
Plans cap custom avatars. HeyGen lists 1 on Free and Creator-level plans, 5+ on Business and 10+ on Enterprise; Colossyan lists 15 on Starter and 20 on Professional; Tavus lists 0 on Basic, 3 on Starter and 7 on Growth; Microsoft Teams allows 3 per account. Sume charges $0.95 per new avatar, and the docs pages I read list no per-plan avatar cap.
That makes avatar count a budget line on Sume instead of a plan limit. At 50 avatars it is $47.50 one time.
The table
These are custom avatars or replicas as each page names them. The HeyGen page shows '1+' for Creator and Pro, which I read as at least one without a stated cap.
| Vendor and plan | Custom avatars listed | Price a month |
|---|---|---|
| HeyGen Free | 1 | $0 |
| HeyGen Creator | 1+ | $29 |
| HeyGen Pro | 1+ | $49 |
| HeyGen Business | 5+ | $149 plus $20 per seat |
| Colossyan Starter | 15 | Free or $27 as listed |
| Colossyan Professional | 20 | $59 ($30 annual) |
| Tavus Basic | 0 | Free |
| Tavus Starter | 3 | $59 |
| Tavus Growth | 7 | $397 |
| Microsoft Teams | 3 per account | Part of Teams, admin setup |
What Sume's number is
The create-avatar docs describe a flat per-avatar creation charge, shown in the catalog as $0.95, and a handle you reuse in every video. One avatar appears in each video. A 10-avatar roster costs $9.50; 25 clients cost $23.75. You pay again only for a new avatar, not for each video that reuses it.
Caveats
A custom avatar on Colossyan or HeyGen is built through the vendor's capture flow and may include a trained voice; on Sume an avatar is created from a photo or prompt, and voice is chosen per video. Counting avatars across vendors is only meaningful if the avatars do the same job. If you need a roster of recurring presenters for different brands, price it as creation fee plus clips, as in the 50-avatar post.
