One finished minute of AI video costs $7.20 on Runway Gen-4.5, $3.60 to $14.40 on Luma Ray3.2 in 5 second clips at 720p to 1080p, $6.00 to $15.00 on Wan 3.0 depending on whether you pay Alibaba or Sume, and $34.67 to $85.29 on Seedance 2.5 on Sume. The rates are the vendors' own pages and Sume's price table, all read or checked on 2026-10-08.

A per-minute price is an arithmetic convenience. You will not generate one 60 second clip in most cases, and Luma and Runway price by clip length differently. The table states the basis for each row.

The arithmetic

Runway Dev sells credits at $0.01. Gen-4.5 is 12 credits per second, so $0.12 per second and $7.20 per minute. Luma's Ray 3.2 table prices a 5 second clip at $0.30 (720p) and $1.20 (1080p), and a 10 second clip at $0.90 and $3.60. Twelve 5 second clips make a minute: 12 x $0.30 = $3.60 and 12 x $1.20 = $14.40. Six 10 second clips would cost $5.40 and $21.60.

The same minute on Sume

Sume lists Wan 3.0 and Seedance 2.5 but no Runway or Luma model. Its price is the provider list x 1.25. Seedance is priced by video tokens, so its per-minute figure depends on the frame size.

How to read it

At 720p the three cheapest rows are Luma ($3.60), Runway Gen-4 Turbo ($3.00) and Alibaba's Wan 3.0 list ($6.00). They are not the same product, because Gen-4 Turbo is documented as image-to-video, Luma's 5 second clips are shorter than a Wan clip, and Wan can run 30 seconds in one job. Price each row for the clip you will actually make.

  • A single 30 second shot: Wan 3.0 at 720p is $3.75 on Sume. Luma tops out at 20 seconds, so the same shot needs two clips.
  • A 5 second hook at 1080p: Luma $1.20, Wan 3.0 on Sume $1.25, Runway Gen-4.5 $0.60 (the model's page lists no resolution).
  • Anything above 1080p: none of these. Gemini Omni Flash 1.1 lists 4K on Sume at 3 to 10 seconds.

Next step

Pick the two cheapest rows that fit your clip length and run the same prompt through both before you scale. The price normalizer shows how to convert any rate card to this basis.

A worked example

Suppose you need a 30 second spot at 720p. On Runway Gen-4.5 that is 30 x $0.12 = $3.60. On Luma Ray3.2 it is six 5 second clips at $0.30 = $1.80, or three 10 second clips at $0.90 = $2.70. On Wan 3.0 through Sume it is one job: 30 x $0.125 = $3.75. On Seedance 2.5 through Sume it is 30 x $0.5778 = $17.33.

The cheapest line is Luma's short clips, and the line with the least stitching is Wan 3.0. Your own limit is usually the number of takes you throw away, so multiply the clip price by the number of attempts you expect, not by one.
