Colossyan Professional: $59 for 30 minutes vs Sume per-minute rates
Colossyan lists Professional at $59 monthly or $30 annual for 30 NEO minutes and 3 seats. About $1.97 or $1.00 per video minute, against Sume at $11.04 to $33.

Colossyan's pricing page, read 2026-10-08, lists the Professional plan at $59 a month, or $30 a month on annual billing, with 30 minutes of NEO video and 10 minutes of NEO2 video a month, up to 3 editor seats, 20 custom avatars and 300+ stock avatars. If you use the 30 NEO minutes, that is about $1.97 a minute on monthly billing and about $1.00 a minute on annual. Sume Avatar 1.0 is $11.04 a minute on Standard, so a minute of Colossyan video costs far less if you actually use the plan.
The two products differ in shape, and the section on shape explains why the gap is not a pure price difference.
The three plans
The page also lists Starter (shown as Free or $27) with 20 NEO minutes and 15 custom avatars, and Enterprise with unlimited minutes. Professional adds unlimited MP4 downloads, watermark removal and 5 SCORM exports a month. The page states a 34 percent annual discount, but its own monthly figures ($59 and $30) do not match that percentage, so I use the listed prices directly.
| Plan | Price | NEO minutes a month | Max video length | Derived cost per NEO minute |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | Free or $27 as listed | 20 | 20 minutes | Not derived; price ambiguous |
| Professional, monthly | $59 | 30 | 30 minutes | $1.97 |
| Professional, annual | $30 a month | 30 | 30 minutes | $1.00 |
| Sume Avatar 1.0 Standard | $0.184 a second | Pay per use | 60 seconds per job | $11.04 |
Why the gap is not the whole story
The Colossyan figure assumes you use every included minute and you work in its editor. A month with 12 minutes of finished video makes the Professional plan about $4.92 a minute monthly. Sume has no floor: 12 minutes of Standard is $132.48 and 0 minutes is $0.
Sume jobs are also capped at 60 seconds, so 12 minutes is at least 12 jobs of 60 seconds that you join yourself. For long, editor-built videos with slides and many scenes, the Colossyan route is the one designed for it.
When Sume is the cheaper choice anyway
Below about 5 minutes of video a month, Sume Standard costs less than the $59 monthly plan: 5 minutes is $55.20, while 6 minutes is already $66.24. If you need a handful of API-generated clips with no seats, the pay-per-second route avoids the subscription. If you make an hour of training video a month, Colossyan's own numbers are the better deal by a wide margin.
