Cancel Sume Pro back to Free: do you get the $4 credit again?
No. The $4 Free credit is a one-time grant per workspace, and moving back to Free from a paid plan does not issue it again.

No: the $4 Free credit is granted once per workspace, for life, and going back to Free after a paid plan does not grant it again. If the workspace already used or received it, the Free plan starts with whatever credit you have left. Included usage figures come from Sume's plan catalog; the Billing and subscription page in the dashboard shows what is left on your workspace.
What the Free plan is
Free is $0 a month with a one-time $4 of usage (some countries get a reduced $1 grant). It runs 1 job at a time, accepts 6 (1 running and 5 queued), and covers image generation only. Video needs a paid plan.
| Item | Free |
|---|---|
| Monthly fee | $0 |
| Grant | $4 once per workspace ($1 reduced tier) |
| Concurrency | 1 |
| Queue | 5 |
| Accepted jobs | 6 |
| Video generation | Needs a paid plan |
What happens when you cancel
When a workspace drops from a paid plan back to Free, the code that restores the Free state does not create a new $4 grant. Included usage from the paid plan expires at the end of its period with no rollover, so the practical effect is that you stop having a monthly allowance.
Top-up credit is separate. A top-up lot lasts 365 days from purchase, so money you added is not removed by cancelling, though video still needs a paid plan to run. See how long top-up lots last.
If you are deciding whether to cancel
Use the included usage before the period ends; it will not roll over. If you only need a few clips a month, compare what Pro covers with the cost of rejoining later. Note that rejoining a paid plan is an upgrade from Free, which grants the full included amount once the invoice is paid.
The sensible way to avoid wasting money is to plan the last month. Spend the remaining included usage before the period ends, because it expires then and does not roll over. Export or download finished video assets while you still have a paid plan, since video generation stops being available on Free. If you expect to come back within a few months, a smaller paid plan may cost less than cancelling and paying a full upgrade invoice later.
