Paying yearly saves $48 on Pro, $180 on Startup and $720 on Scale compared with twelve monthly payments. Pro is $432 a year against $480, Startup is $1,260 against $1,440 and Scale is $4,080 against $4,800, based on the sticker prices on the Sume pricing page.

The discount is different per plan, which is why a single percentage is misleading. The yearly figure is 12 times a plan-specific monthly equivalent.

The arithmetic

Monthly price times 12 gives the monthly total. Subtract the yearly price to get the saving, then divide the yearly price by 12 to get the monthly equivalent.

What the plan does and does not change

A plan sells concurrency and access. It does not change the per-second or per-image rate of a model: Seedance, Wan and the image models are billed from the same USD wallet rates on every tier, as the credits docs describe.

So the question is rarely "which plan makes video cheaper". It is "how many jobs do I need running at once". Pro runs 4 at a time, Startup 8 and Scale 20.

A Q4 way to decide

Take a batch of 80 clips for a November campaign. At 4 concurrent jobs that is 20 waves, at 8 it is 10 waves and at 20 it is 4 waves. Wave count, not per-clip price, is what the plan buys.

If you need that throughput for a single month, monthly billing costs $120 for Startup against the yearly commitment of $1,260. If you will use it for eleven or more months, yearly is cheaper: 11 x $120 = $1,320, which is already above $1,260.

  • Month-to-month fits a single campaign season.
  • Yearly fits a standing weekly ad cadence.
  • Neither tier adds a discount on model rates.
