Avatar video with a product_image: +1 to 3 cents per second, priced
Adding a product_image to a Sume avatar video raises the rate by $0.010 to $0.030 per second. A 30-second clip costs $5.52 to $17.40 depending on tier.
Adding a product_image to a Sume avatar video costs $0.010 more per second at the standard tier, $0.013 at plus and $0.030 at max. For a 30-second clip that is a $0.30, $0.39 or $0.90 surcharge on top of $5.52, $7.35 or $16.50, so the clip with a product is $5.82, $7.74 or $17.40. Omit the field and you pay the no-product rate.
Avatar Video accepts scripts or multi-scene plans that Sume estimates at 4 to 60 seconds, and the quality setting (standard, plus or max) picks the tier. Plus is the default if you do not send it.
Rate card
| Tier | No product / s | With product / s | 30 s no product | 30 s with product |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| standard | $0.184 | $0.194 | $5.52 | $5.82 |
| plus | $0.245 | $0.258 | $7.35 | $7.74 |
| max | $0.55 | $0.58 | $16.50 | $17.40 |
The arithmetic
Standard: $0.184 x 30 = $5.52; with a product $0.194 x 30 = $5.82. Plus: $0.245 x 30 = $7.35; with a product $0.258 x 30 = $7.74. Max: $0.55 x 30 = $16.50; with a product $0.58 x 30 = $17.40. Add the 5.5% platform fee from Sume's pricing policy for the all-in cost, for example $8.17 for a 30-second plus clip with a product.
These per-second prices are fixed Sume rates, not a provider list multiplied by a margin, so they do not move when a vendor changes its price. The catalog's reserve for a 4-second clip is the no-product rate times four; the maximum adds the product rate.
When the surcharge matters
The product surcharge is small per clip and large per campaign only at the max tier. Over 100 thirty-second clips, a product image costs $30.00 more at standard, $39.00 at plus and $90.00 at max. If only some clips need a product on screen, put the product in those and run the rest productless.
Mixed example: 100 clips of 30 s at the plus tier, 40 with a product. That is 60 x $7.35 + 40 x $7.74 = $441.00 + $309.60 = $750.60 before the fee. All 100 with a product would be $774.00; none, $735.00.
Steps
- Decide per clip whether the product has to be visible; omit
product_imageotherwise. - Pick
quality:standardis the fastest path, plusthe default, maxthe highest quality and slowest. - Keep each script at an estimated 4 to 60 seconds; split longer ones into multiple jobs.
- Check
usage.coston the finished job against the table.
Thirty seconds at each tier
For a 30-second script the numbers are: standard $5.52 without a product and $5.82 with one (a 30 cent difference), plus $7.35 and $7.74 (39 cents), and max $16.50 and $17.40 (90 cents). The product image therefore adds between 5% and 6% at every tier. Choose the tier on how the avatar should look and the product image on whether the item must appear, not on the surcharge.
What Sume does not do
Sume does not bill avatar video per script word, does not accept scripts it estimates over 60 seconds in one job (split them), and does not charge extra for inline captions: they do not create a separate billed job. Avatar creation itself is a flat $0.95 per avatar, charged once.
