AI Studios 30 video minutes a month vs Sume's 60-second avatar clips
AI Studios Personal includes 30 minutes of video a month. Sume Avatar 1.0 makes clips of 4 to 60 seconds; a longer video is several jobs joined on a timeline.
AI Studios Personal includes 30 minutes of video a month for $24. Sume Avatar 1.0 caps each request at 60 seconds, so 30 minutes of avatar footage is at least 30 jobs, billed per second.
What a 30-minute month costs on Sume
At the standard tier a second costs $0.184 without a product, so 1,800 seconds is $331.20; on plus at $0.245 it is $441. Rates are in GET /v1/catalog and can change.
The point is not that one is cheap. A monthly allowance and a per-second meter answer different questions: how much do I commit, and what does each clip cost.
| Option | Basis | 30 minutes |
|---|---|---|
| AI Studios Personal | $24 plan with 30 minutes | $24 |
| Sume standard | $0.184 per second | $331.20 |
| Sume plus | $0.245 per second | $441.00 |
Building long videos from 60-second parts
Split the script on sentence boundaries into chunks under 60 seconds, submit each as its own talking-video job with a distinct Idempotency-Key, then join the outputs with POST /v1/timeline-1.0/render. The timeline renders up to 200 video slots with audio up to 1,800 seconds.
Use webhooks rather than polling: Sume sends a signed job.completed or job.failed event per job.
When per-second wins
It wins when output is irregular, such as 20 clips in one week and none the next, because nothing expires. It loses when you generate a steady half hour every month.
