Holiday revisions: $4 caption re-burn vs $24 re-render, 20 clips
For 20 holiday clips, a copy-only revision is 20 caption jobs at $0.20 = $4.00. Re-rendering each at Omni 720p plus captions is $24.00. Three rounds: $12 vs $72

On a 20-clip holiday set, a copy-only revision should be a caption pass: 20 jobs at $0.20 is $4.00. Re-rendering each clip with Omni Flash 1.1 at 720p for 8 seconds ($1.00) plus captions ($0.20) is $24.00. Over three client rounds that is $12.00 against $72.00, so the first job of an agency is to sort feedback into text changes and picture changes before touching a render.
The two kinds of feedback
TikTok's Black Friday guide tells advertisers to test creative variations in September and October, finalize creative in October, and go live in early November (TikTok Ads guide, read 2026-10-05). That leaves little room for rounds, so each round should be cheap. A change of offer, price, deadline, or call to action is text. A change of product shot, mood, or pacing is picture.
| Round type | What changes | Per clip | 20 clips |
|---|---|---|---|
| Copy only | Offer, price, deadline, CTA (caption cues) | $0.20 | $4.00 |
| Picture and copy | New Omni 720p 8 s clip plus captions | $1.20 | $24.00 |
| Mixed: 5 of 20 re-rendered | 5 x $1.20 + 15 x $0.20 | $9.00 |
Three rounds
Cost compounds with each round. Three copy-only rounds are 3 x $4.00 = $12.00. Three full re-renders are 3 x $24.00 = $72.00, a $60.00 difference. A realistic mix, with 5 of 20 clips needing a new shot each round, is 3 x $9.00 = $27.00.
Re-trims fit between the two: a video-trim is $0.02 per job, so shortening 20 clips by a second or two for a platform's length is $0.40.
How to keep rounds cheap
Keep the source clips free of text, so that every offer is a caption cue added in a final pass. Version the cues in a spreadsheet by SKU, and use a distinct Idempotency-Key for each revision, such as the SKU plus a revision suffix, so an old key cannot return a stale result.
Ask for feedback on a proof before the final, and sort each comment into text or picture before you act. A single comment like 'make it feel warmer' is a picture change and the most expensive kind; ask the client to point at a frame.
- Text change: re-run captions on the caption-free source ($0.20).
- Length change: video-trim ($0.02).
- Picture change: new render, then captions again ($1.20 at Omni 720p, 8 s).
Caveats
Rates change. Check GET /v1/videos/models for the Omni row and GET /v1/catalog for flat-price jobs on the day you quote a client.
