Afrobeats works for fashion ads because its rhythm is steady and its mood is confident. Write the brief around rhythm: "Instrumental Afrobeats, 105 BPM, syncopated log drums, shaker and congas, warm bass, bright plucked guitar, relaxed and upbeat, no vocals." Google's music generation page, read on 2026-10-05, says Lyria 3.5 takes multilingual prompts and offers an instrumental option, and its safety filters block artist voices, so describe the sound and leave artists out.

On Sume

Pin lyria-3.5 on the Music Router if you want the same engine across a campaign; sume/music-auto resolves to it today but may move. One take costs $0.125 and a 15 to 30 second ad renders at $0.10 on Timeline. Google lists Lyria 3.5 at $0.08 per song on its pricing page, read on 2026-10-05, but Sume's $0.125 is what your account is billed.

Cutting fashion footage to the groove

At 105 BPM one beat is about 0.57 seconds, so a bar is about 2.3 seconds. Fashion edits often change look every one or two bars, which means a new outfit every 2.3 or 4.6 seconds. Order the video slots to match, and check the take's real tempo before you lock the cuts, because a generated track may not hold the BPM you asked for.

Fashion ads rarely have a voiceover, so leave duck_db at its default 0 and set gain_db near 0 with a fade_out_seconds of 1 to 2 for a clean ending. If you add a voice line, give duck_db a value of 6 or more; ducking needs an audio spine and is rejected with silent audio.
