A mixed 1,000-prompt library: ads, demos and teasers by model, priced
Matching the model to the clip type puts a 600/250/150 library at $1,162.50 on Sume, against $3,722.50 if every clip ran on seedance-2-fast. The arithmetic.

A 1,000-prompt library split into 600 vertical ads (8 s, 720p), 250 product demos (12 s, 1080p) and 150 teasers (5 s, 720p, 9:16) costs $1,162.50 on Sume when you choose wan-3.0, kling-3 and seedance-2-mini for the three types. Running all three types on seedance-2-fast costs $3,722.50.
That gap is the reason not to migrate a Sora library with one model id. OpenAI removed the Videos API on 2026-09-24 and named no replacement, so there is no single drop-in; the choice is yours per clip type.
The mix and the model for each type
The split below is an example library, not a recommendation of counts. Change the three counts to match your own export and keep the per-clip cents.
| Clip type | Count | Model and size | Per clip | Subtotal |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vertical ad | 600 | wan-3.0, 720p, 8 s | $1.00 | $600.00 |
| Product demo | 250 | kling-3, 1080p, 12 s, audio off | $1.68 | $420.00 |
| Teaser | 150 | seedance-2-mini, 720p 9:16, 5 s | $0.95 | $142.50 |
| Total | 1000 | $1,162.50 |
The same library on one model
On seedance-2-fast the three types cost $2.42 (8 s 720p), $8.17 (12 s 1080p) and $1.52 (5 s 720p), which gives $1,452.00, $2,042.50 and $228.00. The sum is $3,722.50, or 3.2 times the mixed plan.
If the product demos need Kling's audio, the demo line moves to $2.52 per clip and $630.00 in total, and the library becomes $1,372.50. It is still well below the single-model total.
Why the demo line is the one to watch
The 250 demos are a quarter of the clips but 36 percent of the mixed bill. Long, high-resolution clips dominate the total, so a small change there moves the library more than a change to the 600 ads. If a demo can be 8 seconds instead of 12, a kling-3 clip falls from 168 to 112 cents, and the demo line from $420.00 to $280.00.
The ads are the opposite case: they are numerous, but at 100 cents each the whole line is $600.00. Cutting an ad line by switching models saves little unless the counts are very large, so spend the testing time on the demo and teaser looks first.
What to check before you split
A mixed plan means three looks in one catalog, and a brand that needs one consistent look is better served by a single model. Render five prompts of each type on each candidate and compare them side by side before you commit the whole run.
The arithmetic for one line: 250 demos x 168 cents = 42,000 cents = $420.00. Kling prices 1080p the same as 720p, so the demo line would cost the same at 720p; ask for 1080p only if the deliverable needs it. All per-clip figures come from the same catalog that GET /v1/videos/models returns; see the Video generation docs.
