$100 of AI video: how many seconds Veo 3.1 tiers and Sume models buy
$100 buys 2,000 seconds of Veo 3.1 Lite 720p, 1,000 of Fast, and 250 of Standard. On Sume it buys 1,000 of H3 Max 768p and 800 of Wan 3.0 720p. Read 2026-10-03.

Divide $100 by a per-second rate and you get seconds of video. Google's Gemini API pricing page (read 2026-10-03) lists Veo 3.1 at 720p for $0.05 per second on Lite, $0.10 on Fast and $0.40 on Standard. Sume's rates are provider list times 1.25 (see the Video API docs).
Seconds per $100
Rows below are ordered cheapest to most expensive per second.
| Option | Per second | Seconds per $100 | 10 s clips |
|---|---|---|---|
| Veo 3.1 Lite 720p (Google) | $0.05 | 2,000 | 200 |
| MiniMax H3 Max 480p (Sume) | $0.0625 | 1,600 | 160 |
| Veo 3.1 Fast 720p (Google) | $0.1 | 1,000 | 100 |
| MiniMax H3 Max 768p (Sume) | $0.1 | 1,000 | 100 |
| Gemini Omni Flash 720p (Sume) | $0.125 | 800 | 80 |
| Wan 3.0 720p (Sume) | $0.125 | 800 | 80 |
| Kling 3 Pro audio off (Sume) | $0.14 | 714 | 71 |
| Kling 3 Pro audio on (Sume) | $0.21 | 476 | 47 |
| Veo 3.1 Standard 720p (Google) | $0.4 | 250 | 25 |
Reading the table
From the table, $100 is 100 clips of 10 seconds on Veo 3.1 Fast or H3 Max 768p, and 47 on Kling 3 Pro with audio on (476 seconds). On Veo 3.1 Standard it is 25.
The point of a table like this is not to crown a winner. It is to show how much a model choice matters: the same $100 buys eight times as much video on the cheapest line as on the dearest. Quality differences between tiers are real, and the best budget buys the tier you will actually ship, not the cheapest one.
Retakes eat the budget
If two takes of every clip are normal in your workflow, halve every figure above. $100 on Veo 3.1 Fast or H3 Max 768p then yields 50 finished 10-second clips, not 100.
Use this snippet with your own budget, rate and retake factor.
budget = 100.0
rate = 0.10 # per second
retakes = 2
seconds = budget / rate / retakes
print(f'{seconds:.0f} finished seconds, {seconds / 10:.0f} clips of 10 s')
