Logo in the first 2 seconds plus an end card: Pinterest and Amazon
Pinterest wants the logo in the first 1-2 seconds; Amazon says beginning or end. Build both cuts from one clip with Timeline 1.0 for $0.10 each.

Pinterest's creative guide says to place the logo and ideally the product front and center in the first 1 to 2 seconds, and also to add a branded end card. Amazon's Sponsored Brands video guide says to have the logo at the beginning or end. One cut with the logo in the opening 2 seconds and again on an end card fits both pages.
Quotes are from Maximise Premiere Spotlight: Creative Best Practices for Advertisers and Get started with Sponsored Brands video (both read 2026-10-11). Neither page gives a required number of seconds for Amazon, so this post does not claim one.
What each page asks for
If your creative team is arguing about whether to open on the logo or save it for the end, these two pages do not force a choice.
| Page | Logo guidance | Cut that satisfies it |
|---|---|---|
| Pinterest Premiere Spotlight guide | Logo and ideally product front and center in the first 1-2 seconds; branded end cards | Lockup held at the start, end card at the close |
| Amazon Sponsored Brands video guide | Logo at the beginning or end of the video | Either end, so the same cut passes |
Build the two cuts from one product clip
Timeline 1.0 takes ordered video[] slots and returns one MP4. Per the docs, stills are static holds, video[0].start must be 0, and later starts must increase. So a cut is a lockup still for 2 seconds, the product clip, then the lockup again.
The docs' public rate is $0.10 per ceil output minute, and a 10 second cut rounds up to one minute. Two cuts, one with a logo opening and one with only an end card, cost 2 x $0.10 = $0.20 in Timeline fees, plus whatever the product clip itself cost to generate. The plan endpoint is unbilled and returns estimated_cost_usd_micros before you commit.

def cut(slots, name):
body = {
"audio": {"mode": "silence", "duration_seconds": 10},
"video": slots,
"output": {"width": 1920, "height": 1080, "fps": 30},
}
r = requests.post(
"https://api.sume.com/v1/timeline-1.0/render",
headers={"Authorization": "Bearer " + os.environ["SUME_API_KEY"],
"Idempotency-Key": name},
json=body, timeout=60)
print(name, r.status_code)
lock = "https://media.sume.com/artifacts/artf_demo/lockup.png"

{"source_url": clip, "start": 2, "duration": 6},

cut([{"source_url": clip, "start": 0, "duration": 8},
{"source_url": lock, "start": 8, "duration": 2}], "end-card-v1")Why not use compose for the logo
Timeline compose puts one still and one video on screen together, as overlay or stack. It builds one shot, with the still present for the whole shot, so it cannot show a logo for 2 seconds and then remove it. For a timed logo, use the slot sequence above, or use compose for a logo that stays up the whole clip.
Checks before you upload
The cut is a starting point, and the platforms' own review applies.
- Read each platform's current spec page for aspect ratio and length; this post did not read those.
- Confirm the logo file is the registered logo each platform expects.
- Watch the first 2 seconds muted at phone size.
- For the Amazon aspect ratio on Sume see Amazon Sponsored Brands video is 16:9 only, and for the end card itself see Logo motion design Format: brand end card.
