How to remix a video with AI: four routes by what you change
Remixing a clip means a prompt edit, a person swap, a motion transfer, or a new clip from references. Which Sume route fits each, with the fields.

Pick the remix route by what you want to keep. Keep your footage and change something in it: a prompt edit on gemini-omni-flash-1.1. Keep your footage and change who is in it: h3-max-recast. Keep the motion and change the character: higgsfield-genjutsu. Keep only the idea: generate a new clip from references. These are separate Video Router routes with different fields, which is why one prompt cannot cover them all.
Route table
| You want | Model | Source input | Limit from docs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Change an object or look in your clip | gemini-omni-flash-1.1 | video_url | Output keeps source framing; resolution default 720p |
| Swap the people | h3-max-recast | video_url + 1 to 4 reference_image_urls | 768p or 1080p, 5 to 30 s |
| Move your motion onto another character | higgsfield-genjutsu | video_url + 1 to 8 reference_image_urls | 480p or 720p, 4 to 30 s |
| New clip echoing a source | a model listing video references | reference_video_urls | Reference clips are short; check the model list |
Before you remix someone else's clip
Remixing a clip you do not own is a rights and platform-policy question, not a model question. YouTube's own recent update on re-uploads is covered in the Shorts post below. Edit your own footage freely, and trim it first: the source for an Omni edit is capped at 10 seconds on Google's page, and Sume's video-trim endpoint can cut a workspace clip down before you submit.
