Halloween photo clips: 12 photos at 8 seconds on Grok Imagine
Animate 12 Halloween photos into 8-second clips on Sume's Grok Imagine row for $1.20 in total. Use a first frame per clip and one idempotency key per photo.

Twelve Halloween photos animated for 8 seconds each cost $1.20 on Sume's grok-imagine-video-1.5 row: 8 seconds at $0.0125 is exactly $0.10 a clip, so there is no cent rounding. The row is image-to-video only, so each photo is the first frame of its own job.
Cost for the set
Pick the length to avoid rounding. Sume ceils each job to the cent, so 8 seconds (an exact $0.10) and 4 seconds ($0.05) lose nothing. Five seconds would be $0.0625 and bill as $0.07.
| Length | Per clip | 12 clips |
|---|---|---|
| 4 s | $0.05 | $0.60 |
| 5 s | $0.07 (from $0.0625) | $0.84 |
| 8 s | $0.10 | $1.20 |
| 12 s | $0.15 | $1.80 |
Prompts and framing
Prompts for a spooky still should say what moves and what stays. A line such as candles flicker, the curtain stirs, the person does not move keeps a portrait recognizable. The row follows the source image's ratio, so crop to the shape you want before you upload: a 1.79:1 frame at 480p came back 736x400 in the repo's note.
Running the batch
Submit twelve jobs, each with frame_images holding the photo as first_frame and its own Idempotency-Key such as halloween-03. Poll or use a webhook; a lost response then retries with the same key and does not bill twice. If one photo fails, resubmit only that one. Check the clips for faces of real people before you post them.
- One job per photo, never one job for the set.
- Same key on a retry, new key for a changed prompt.
- Pick 4 or 8 seconds so every job is a whole cent.
