Captions for sound-off Shorts: three sources, $0.20 per job
Burn-in captions on Sume cost $0.20 per job up to 60 s. Cues can come from a script, TTS timestamps or STT at $0.01 per minute.

Video captions burns text into a clip of up to 60 seconds for $0.20 per job (read 2026-10-07). Styles include slam, punch, tiktok-green, korean-ad and black-outline. The job accepts cues, words, or script_text, so the question is where the timing comes from.
Where the timing comes from
| Source | Extra cost | Note |
|---|---|---|
| TTS word timestamps | $0 | Returned with the voice you made |
| Script text only | $0 | Timing is derived |
| STT on existing footage | $0.01 per minute | For a clip you did not voice |
Choice
For a Short you voiced yourself, use the TTS timestamps: the captions match the voice exactly. For imported footage, transcribe first. The total is $0.20 in the first case and $0.21 for a one-minute clip in the second.
