YouTube Shorts music not working: bake in your own bed
When library music fails on a Short, a bed you generated is part of your file. How to make one for $0.125 and duck it under speech.

'Youtube shorts music not working' is a live search. The causes vary and this post does not diagnose YouTube's library. It offers a workaround: put the music inside your own render so there is no external track to fail.
Make the bed
Music Router costs a fixed $0.125 per generation (read 2026-10-07). Lyria 3.5 is the engine today. There is no duration parameter, so write the length into the prompt and end with 'Instrumental, no vocals'. Prompts may use time markers such as [0:00-0:30] Intro.
Bake it in
Timeline 1.0 takes a soundtrack with a gain in dB, a loop flag, a fade-out of up to 10 seconds and a duck of 0 to 20 dB under speech. The render is $0.10 per output minute. The result is one video file whose music cannot go missing at upload.
Rights: a track you generate is your file, but read the music doc for terms before you monetize.
| Step | Cost |
|---|---|
| Music bed | $0.125 |
| Timeline render under 60 s | $0.10 |
| Total | $0.225 |
