What a failed AI video job costs on Sume: reserve, capture, release

Sume reserves the estimate at submit, captures it on success and releases it on failure. In a 20-job Seedance 2.5 batch with 3 failures you pay $98.26.

A failed job on Sume costs nothing: the estimate is reserved when the request is accepted, captured only on success, and released or refunded when the job fails. In a batch of 20 Seedance 2.5 clips at 10 seconds and 720p (578 credits each), 3 failures mean 17 x 578 = 9,826 credits captured, $98.26, not $115.60.

This is how the generation admission docs describe paid generation: reserve at accept, capture on completion, release or refund on failure or failed queue admission.

Three outcomes priced

Using 578 credits as the per-job estimate for a 10 second 720p Seedance 2.5 clip:

20-job batch, 578 credits per job (read 2026-10-03)

Cancel and 402 edges

You can cancel a job only before generation starts; after that the API returns 409 job_generation_already_started and the job completes or fails on its own terms. Cancel queued jobs you no longer need before they begin.

If the balance cannot cover a reservation, the submit returns 402 insufficient_credits. With a $100.00 balance and 578-credit jobs, 17 submits reserve 9,826 credits and the 18th would need 10,404, so it returns 402 until earlier jobs settle or the balance rises (the errors page lists the code).
