Five dollars buys 27 seconds of standard avatar video, 26 seconds of Fabric at 720p, 105,263 characters of text to speech, 500 minutes of transcript, 222 background removals or 40 music tracks. The table divides $5.00 by each published Sume rate and rounds down to whole units.
The rates and the division
Rates come from the API pricing page and the guides linked from the Models overview. No margin or minimum is applied beyond what the rate states, and every figure is a floor division, so the last unit is only counted if it is fully covered.
| Product | Rate | $5.00 buys |
|---|---|---|
| Avatar creation | $0.95 per avatar | 5 avatars |
| Avatar video, standard, no product | $0.184 per second | 27 seconds |
| Avatar video, plus, no product | $0.245 per second | 20 seconds |
| Avatar video, max, no product | $0.55 per second | 9 seconds |
| Fabric 720p | $0.1875 per audio second | 26 seconds |
| H3 Max lip-sync 768p | $0.10 per audio second | 50 seconds |
| Kling 3.0 Motion Control | $0.1575 per second | 31 seconds |
| Text to speech | $0.0475 per 1,000 characters | 105,263 characters |
| Speech transcription | $0.01 per audio minute | 500 minutes |
| Background removal | $0.0225 per image | 222 images |
| Image upscale | $0.20 per image | 25 images |
| Video upscale | $0.009 per input second | 555 seconds |
| Music | $0.125 per track | 40 tracks |
| Timeline render | $0.10 per output minute | 50 minutes |
| Video trim | $0.02 per job | 250 jobs |
| Video captions | $0.20 per job | 25 jobs |
Caveats before you plan around it
Per-second products bill per whole second, rounded up, and some have an input window: Fabric takes up to 300 seconds, H3 Max lip-sync 5 to 14.8 seconds, Kling Motion Control 1 to 30 seconds. Text to speech has a 1 cent minimum per job, so $5.00 of 100-character lines buys at most 500 jobs, far fewer than the 105,263 characters the rate would suggest.
The flat-job tools show the largest ratio between rate and use. A trim costs $0.02 and a caption job $0.20, so a pipeline of one trim, one caption job and one render minute on a short clip is $0.32 and $5.00 covers 15 of them.
Using the table
Use it to sanity-check a quote. If a job is expected to cost $0.30 and the table says a 4 second standard avatar clip costs $0.736, the quote is for something else. For generation families with variable prices, such as Image 1.0 and Video 1.0, use the GET /v1/catalog estimate and band rather than this table.

Under a $1.00 per-clip ceiling, only minimax-h3 (768p), wan-3.0 and Omni Flash fit an 8-second 720p 9:16 clip on Sume. At $1.50 Kling joins; at $2.50 all do.

- How Sume pricing works: plans, one wallet, published model rates
Sume plans set access and concurrency. Usage draws from one prepaid wallet at each model's published USD rate, for generation, the Agent, Formats, and the API.
