Alibaba Cloud Model Studio lists Wan 3.0 video at $0.05, $0.10 and $0.20 per second for 480P, 720P and 1080P in Singapore, and at $0.041256, $0.082513 and $0.165025 per second in China (Beijing) and other regions. The second set is 17.5% lower at every size. A 30 second clip at 720P costs $3.00 on the Singapore list and $2.48 on the second.

Sume bills a different table. Its repo price table lists Wan 3.0 at the same $0.05, $0.10 and $0.20 per second and multiplies by 1.25, so 720p is $0.125 per second on Sume. That is a Sume rate, not Alibaba's.

Alibaba's two rate sets

Both columns are from Alibaba's wan3.0-video model page. The maximum clip length is 30 seconds in the page's description.

A 30 second clip, four ways

The multiplication is price per second times 30. The 17.5% figure is 1 - 0.082513 / 0.10 = 0.17487, rounded.

What to take from it

If you call Alibaba directly, which region your account sits in changes the price by 17.5%. Check the region on the account that will pay before you cost a campaign. If you call Sume, the price does not depend on a region: you pay Sume's rate for the resolution. Sume reserves the price at submit, as the credit rules describe.

The rate sets on the page also differ in availability, so read the page for the region you will use. This page does not claim that Sume serves from either region, because Sume's docs do not say so.

What to check on the account

Alibaba's page splits its price list by region. Before you cost a campaign, find out which region your account belongs to and use that column. A team that runs 200 clips of 10 seconds at 720P pays 200 x 10 x $0.10 = $200.00 on the Singapore list and 200 x 10 x $0.082513 = $165.03 on the second list, a difference of $34.97.

On Sume the same 2,000 seconds at 720p cost 2,000 x $0.125 = $250.00. The extra $50.00 over the Singapore list is the 25% Sume margin. Sume does not state a region in its video docs, so do not assume one.

Why the Alibaba figures are small

The China and other-regions rates have six decimal places because they are converted prices: $0.041256 is $0.05 x 0.82512. A bill is rounded by the vendor, so a 5 second 480P clip comes to $0.20628 before rounding. Treat the sixth decimal as a display detail and compare totals over many clips, where it adds up: 1,000 clips of 5 seconds at 480P is $206.28 on the second list against $250.00 on the Singapore list.

Sume's own table uses round numbers, so a Sume bill for the same 1,000 clips at 480p is 1,000 x 5 x $0.0625 = $312.50. The difference from Alibaba's list is what you pay for access through Sume's single API and credit balance.
