Alibaba's August 13, 2026 launch post prices a 30-second 1080P Wan 3.0 video at $6.00 and a 480P draft at $1.50, from list rates of $0.20 and $0.05 a second. On Sume the same two clips bill $7.50 and $1.875, because Sume's rate is vendor list times 1.25.

720P$0.10$3.00$0.125$3.75
1080P$0.20$6.00$0.25$7.50

Regions and the lower list price

Alibaba's Model Studio page lists lower per-second rates in Beijing, Tokyo, Frankfurt, Virginia and Hong Kong: $0.041256 at 480P, $0.082513 at 720P and $0.165025 at 1080P. The $0.05, $0.10 and $0.20 rates are the Singapore column. Sume's rate is built from the Singapore-style list, so the regional discount does not reach you.

The draft habit

  • Render at 480P first: one 30-second take costs $1.875 on Sume, a quarter of the 1080p price.
  • Move to 1080P only for the approved shot, and keep the prompt and frames the same.
  • Remember that no Sume v1 model accepts a seed, so the final is a new take, not a bigger copy of the draft.

The honest gap

Alibaba's launch post also says audio texture and on-screen text accuracy are still improving. A cheaper draft does not remove that, so check the text in the 1080P clip itself.

A three-take budget

A shot that needs three 1080P takes at 30 seconds costs $18.00 on Alibaba's list and $22.50 on Sume. With two 480P drafts first and one final, it is 2 x $1.875 plus $7.50, or $11.25 on Sume. The draft step saves roughly half, provided the drafts tell you whether the final will work.
