Vidu's Q2 text-to-image costs $0.03 per 1080P image, and Sume has three image models cheaper than that at $0.025 per image. Vidu's reference-to-image with one to three reference images is $0.04, which is close to Sume's FLUX.2 Pro and low-quality Ideogram 4.5 at $0.0375. Both vendors' prices were read on 2026-10-05 from their own pages, and the comparison is price only.

The Vidu rates

The Vidu pricing page lists ViduQ2 text-to-image at 1080P for $0.03 per image and reference-to-image, with one to three reference images, for $0.04 per image. It also prices video models separately. Those video rates are not part of this comparison, which is about still images.

How Sume's numbers are built

Each Sume rate is the provider list times 1.25. For Grok Image, Imagen 4 Fast and Qwen Image the list is $0.02, giving $0.025. Seedream v4 is $0.026 list and $0.0325 on Sume. Ideogram 4.5 follows the fal list of $0.03, $0.06 or $0.22 by quality, giving $0.0375, $0.075 and $0.275, and the image docs say the list price does not change with size.

Where the comparison breaks

Vidu quotes 1080P output. Sume's cheaper models are priced per image at the model's standard output sizes, and the maximum resolutions differ by model, so check the supported sizes on the image models endpoint before you assume equal pixels. Reference-to-image behaves differently across models too: Ideogram 4.5 on Sume takes up to five images in an edit (the first is edited and four more serve as references), while Vidu's rate covers one to three reference images, so the two prices do not buy the same inputs.

Quality is the open question. A $0.03 image that needs two retries costs more than a $0.0375 one that works the first time. Run your own prompts through both before you compare totals. A fair test is 20 prompts that look like your real traffic, the same size on both sides, and a count of how many outputs you would actually publish. Divide the spend by the usable images, not the generated ones, and the cheaper rate sometimes stops being cheaper.

Monthly volumes

The table multiplies the listed per-image prices by three monthly volumes. It uses Vidu's text-to-image rate, Sume's cheapest tier and Sume's $0.0375 tier. No discounts, taxes or plan fees are included, and the Sume cells assume a single image per request.

100,000$3,000.00$2,500.00$3,750.00

A simple budget

Reading the 10,000 row another way: at 10,000 images a month, Vidu text-to-image is $300 and Sume's $0.025 models are $250. With Sume's $0.0375 models it is $375. For reference-based images at the same volume, Vidu is $400 and Sume's low-quality Ideogram 4.5 is $375, though Sume's Ideogram numbers describe its own edit mode and not Vidu's reference mode. In both cases the table is a starting point for a trial, not a verdict. Spend $5 on each side with your own prompts, count the keepers, and then compare the cost per keeper.

Before you decide

Both lists can change, and Vidu's page also prices its video and audio products separately, so make sure you are reading the still-image rows. Read Vidu's pricing page and Sume's API pricing the day you budget, and generate a few test images on each.
