Turn summer footage into autumn with an edit prompt (Omni Flash)
Change the season of a clip you already shot with a video_url edit on Gemini Omni Flash 1.1 at Sume: prompt wording, what to verify, and a 6-second price table.

To turn summer footage into autumn, send the clip as video_url to gemini-omni-flash-1.1 with a prompt such as: "Change the season to autumn: leaves turn orange and gold, some fall from the trees. Keep the people, the camera movement and the sound the same." The edit route changes the look of the scene and keeps the source clip's framing, so it is the quick way to make a seasonal variant from footage you already have, instead of reshooting in October.
This is a different job from a transition. Sume has a separate pattern for a first and last frame pair that morphs between seasons, which is covered in the day-to-night and season change transitions page. An edit changes the whole clip. A transition changes during the clip.
Prompt for a whole-scene change
A season is not one object, so the prompt needs to list the elements that change and the elements that stay. Think about foliage, ground, light and clothing separately, and say which of them you want to follow the season.
- Foliage: leaves turn orange and gold, bare branches in places.
- Ground: fallen leaves on the path and the grass.
- Light: lower, warmer afternoon light.
- Keep clause: the people, their clothing, the camera movement and the sound stay the same.
Which footage works best
Choose a clip where the season shows in the frame: trees, grass, a park or a street with plants. A clip of an indoor product on a plain table has almost no season to change, and the prompt will have little to act on. Wide shots give the model many elements to change, while tight close-ups give it few. If the clip is mostly people, a seasonal change shows up in the light and the background only, and the clothing stays as you asked in the keep clause.
Also decide the resolution before the run. The default is 720p. If the autumn clip is for a vertical feed, remember that edit mode keeps the source framing, so the aspect ratio of the output is the one you shot. Plan the crop for the platform in the timeline after the edit, not in the edit request.
What an edit route can and cannot hold constant
The route fixes the framing and the length to the source, with no aspect_ratio and no duration sent to the provider. It does not fix the exact look of people or objects, so a whole-scene change can touch things you did not name. Review the result for clothing color, skin tones that the warmer light has shifted, and any visible text such as a shop sign. Where something drifted, run a second edit with a narrower prompt on the original source, not on the first edit, to avoid compounding changes.
The audio is native and synced, and generate_audio: false is a 400 in this mode. Listen to the result. Whether a summer soundscape still fits an autumn image is a creative choice you make after the run.
Edit, transition or reshoot
Three options give a seasonal clip. Pick by what you already have.
| You have | Route | Request shape | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| A finished summer clip | Omni edit | video_url + prompt | Same clip, autumn look |
| Two stills, summer and autumn | Omni first and last frame | image_url + end_image_url, 3 to 10 s | A change that happens in the clip |
| Nothing yet | Text or image to video | Prompt (+ first frame) | A new clip |
A 6 second pass
Prices follow the provider list times 1.25 per row, rounded up to the cent. The table is a 6 second source. Send duration: 6 so the reserve matches the clip and not the default 8 seconds. If you run the same clip in three seasons, each one is a separate job with its own reserve, so the total is three times the row.
| Resolution | Provider list per second | Sume per second | 6 second pass |
|---|---|---|---|
| 360p | $0.03 | $0.0375 | $0.23 |
| 720p | $0.10 | $0.125 | $0.75 |
| 1080p | $0.15 | $0.1875 | $1.13 |
| 4K | $0.30 | $0.375 | $2.25 |
