Trending video search for a content calendar: 20 searches cost $2
Sume trending video search costs $0.10 per call. A 20-search calendar pass is $2.00, and a daily check for 30 days is $3.00. The arithmetic and the limits.

Trending video search on Sume costs $0.10 per call, so a 20-search research pass for a content calendar costs 20 x $0.10 = $2.00, and one daily search for 30 days costs $3.00. Nothing else is charged on the call; fetching the clip you pick for analysis is a separate job.
What a pass costs
The price is flat per call, so cost follows the number of searches you run, not the size of the results.
| Plan | Searches | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| One topic, one check | 1 | $0.10 |
| Weekly pass, 4 topics | 4 | $0.40 |
| Calendar pass, 20 topics | 20 | $2.00 |
| Daily check for 30 days | 30 | $3.00 |
| Four topics weekly for a year | 208 | $20.80 |
Making 20 searches useful
Treat each search as a question with a decision attached. A search per content pillar answers which format in that pillar is moving. A search per competitor niche answers whether you should post in it at all. Searches without a decision behind them are the only ones that waste money.
Write the query list before you spend. Twenty distinct queries cost the same as twenty near-duplicates, and only the first set gives you twenty answers.
What one call returns
In production query is required, up to 200 characters: a brand, product, creator, or keyword. limit runs 1 to 50 with a default of 10. Optional filters are platform, window, region, and summary_mode. The $0.10 price covers summary_mode: metadata as well. So the way to get more from a call is a higher limit and a narrower window, not more calls: 50 results for $0.10 is $0.002 a result, while 10 searches of 10 results cost $1.00.
| Field | Production rule |
|---|---|
query | Required, up to 200 chars |
limit | 1 to 50, default 10 |
platform, window, region | Optional filters |
| Price | $0.10 per accepted call |
From a result to a plan
Pick two or three clips from the results. Analyze them with Reference ingest, then rebuild the best idea as a new clip with your own product. The search is $0.10 and the rest is priced by the tools you then choose.
Keep a log of query, date, and what you chose. A repeated query a week later shows what is rising and what has gone cold, and that comparison is the actual product of the habit.
Budget for a quarter
A calendar run each week with 20 searches is 52 x $2.00 = $104.00 a year. A smaller loop of 5 searches each weekday is 5 x 5 x 52 = 1,300 calls, which is $130.00 a year. Pick the loop that matches how often your decisions change; a weekly pass fits most content teams.
Because the price is per call, share results. If two people want the same query on the same day, run it once and pass the output around. The docs note a cache can serve repeat browse calls, but the price per accepted call is still $0.10, so do not count on it to lower a bill.
Mistakes to avoid
Do not run a search per day for a topic that moves weekly. Do not loop on limit of 1 to pick the top result, since a single call with limit 50 costs the same $0.10. Do not treat a result as proof of a trend from one platform alone; run the same topic on a second platform and compare.
