Toast Websites video: 50 MB, landscape only, uploaded by hand
Toast Websites takes a brand video up to 50 MB in landscape only and does not pull it automatically. Make a 16:9 holiday-menu clip with Sume and trim it to fit.

A restaurant on Toast Websites can upload a brand video of up to 50 MB, in landscape orientation only, and Toast says video files are not pulled automatically, so you upload the file by hand. Generate or cut the holiday clip at 16:9 with Sume, keep it short, and check the file size before you upload it.
What Toast's page says
Toast's Websites getting-started article (read 2026-10-10) is short on video: one sentence gives a relevant-to-brand video, a 50 MB maximum, landscape only, and the note that video files are not pulled automatically. It does not state a format, length or loop behavior, so test the upload with the clip you plan to publish.
| Toast says | Value | Sume side |
|---|---|---|
| Content | A video relevant to your brand | Your own dishes and room; prompt the model with the real menu |
| Max size | 50 MB | No file-size field in Sume; shorten the clip, shrink output, drop audio |
| Orientation | Landscape only | aspect_ratio 16:9 on Video Router models |
| Import | Not pulled automatically | Download the Sume MP4 and upload it manually |
Make a 16:9 clip
The Video Router takes an aspect_ratio field. seedance-2.5 accepts 4 to 30 seconds at 480p, 720p or 1080p, and Gemini Omni Flash 1.1 is 3 to 10 seconds at 360p to 4K in 16:9 or 9:16 with native audio always on. Because Toast gives a size cap and no resolution target, 720p is a sensible start, then measure the download.
Ask for a real scene: a plated seasonal dish on the counter, steam, a slow push-in, with no text in the frame. Put prices, holiday hours and last-order dates in as caption cues later, where you can proofread them, instead of letting a model render letters.
curl -X POST https://api.sume.com/v1/video-router/generate \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $SUME_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "Idempotency-Key: toast-hero-001" \
-d '{
"model": "seedance-2.5",
"prompt": "Slow push-in on a plated roast dinner on a warm restaurant counter, soft window light, no text",
"resolution": "720p",
"duration": 8,
"aspect_ratio": "16:9",
"mode": "async"
}'Get under 50 MB
If the download is over the cap, use video trim at $0.02 per job: cut a shorter range, send audio as drop for a website hero that plays muted, or set the output object to a smaller width and height (256 to 2160) with fps 24. The trim page documents these fields; it also rejects codec and crf, so you cannot set a bitrate.
If you want holiday hours or a catering line on the clip, video captions accept authored cues with text, start and end, so a silent clip needs no speech. Standalone captions cost $0.20 for videos up to 60 seconds.
- Render 16:9 only; a vertical clip breaks Toast's landscape rule.
- Trim or drop audio before upload; measure the file, then upload.
- Upload by hand again after every refresh, since Toast does not pull it.
- Re-read Toast's article before launch; it has no format or length line today.
