TikTok Ads Help says Smart+ Catalog Ads need at least 4 products and recommends a minimum of 6 videos. If you have 20 or fewer products, every product is mapped to each video; with more, you can pick up to 20 specific products per video. One filmed session can supply six cuts if you vary the start point and length.

Six cuts from one source

Video trim cuts one range per call and costs $0.02. Use a different Idempotency-Key per cut, or the second call returns the first job. Different starts and lengths give different hooks; the output files are independent.

for i in 0 1 2 3 4 5; do
  START=$((i * 8)); LEN=$((12 + i * 2))
  curl -s -X POST https://api.sume.com/v1/video-trim \
    -H "Authorization: Bearer $SUME_API_KEY" \
    -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
    -H "Idempotency-Key: catalog-cut-$i" \
    -d "{\"video_url\":\"https://media.sume.com/artifacts/artf_demo/shoot.mp4\",\"start\":$START,\"duration\":$LEN}"
done

Make them differ on purpose

Six cuts of the same seconds teach the algorithm little. Choose starts at different scenes, vary the opener, and add authored captions through video captions cues for two of them so the test compares text as well as picture. Each caption job is $0.20 for videos up to 60 seconds.

Keep products mapped to videos where the item appears; the page's mapping rule is by product list, not by content, so a mismatch is yours to avoid.
