TikTok Shop video rules page shows a Sept 17, 2026 update: a checklist
The TikTok Shop Academy page on high-quality videos and LIVEs shows a 09/17/2026 update date. Its video and LIVE rules as a checklist for Sume output.

The page Requirements for High-Quality Videos and LIVEs shows an updated-policy date of 09/17/2026. Rather than rely on a blog's summary, keep a checklist from the page itself and run each generated clip against it.
Checklist from the page
| Rule on the page | How you check a clip |
|---|---|
| Video: real-world environment, camera movement, people | Watch the clip |
| Video: your face and the physical product visible | Pull stills |
| Video: at least 3 seconds of dynamic content, no still images or looping visuals | Watch the first seconds |
| Video: no still, looping or scrolling images through the entire video without your face and the product | Pull stills across the clip |
| LIVE only: stills, slideshows or scrolling images over 50% of the screen; no overlaid product page screenshots | Applies to LIVE, not to an uploaded video |
| LIVE only: no AI voices or recordings as live interaction | Applies to LIVE |
Probe first
Video inspect returns a probe and eight mid-bin stills by default for a clip of up to 1,800 s. Call it with frames: false for probe only, or ask for stills at named times with frames.at.
Request
Stills at one per second, at a small edge size, to review by eye. The submit returns the probe and stills in frames; sync mode waits up to 30 seconds, then returns 202 and you poll.
