Synthesia brand kit fonts vs Sume caption fonts: Hangul only

Synthesia Motion Graphics now use brand kit fonts. Sume's caption font field takes a Hangul face only, so Latin brand fonts cannot be set there.

Synthesia Motion Graphics now use your brand kit fonts by default. Sume's caption font field cannot match an arbitrary brand font: it picks an optional Hangul face for a Hangul style, and you control the rest of the look with style and design.

Synthesia facts are from its updates page (entry dated 9/7/2026); Sume facts from Video captions, read 2026-10-01.

What did Synthesia change?

Per the entry, Motion Graphics use your brand kit fonts by default and update automatically when you switch brand kits.

What does the Sume font field accept?

The docs describe font as an optional Hangul face for the chosen style; omit it to keep that style's own face. It applies to Hangul styles only. Defaults are Pretendard for korean-ad, weight-shift, highlight, pill-karaoke and editorial-emphasis, and Do Hyeon for black-outline and clip-wipe.

Caption look controls from the Sume docs, read 2026-10-01.
FieldWhat it controls
styleThe look and the motion
fontThe Hangul face the style is drawn in
designColours, typography, placement, phrasing, motion; not supported on punch or tiktok-green
languageSpeech-to-text hint only; never picks the style or font

Can I match brand colours instead?

Partly. design overrides colours per request, for example design.colors.active. Numbers outside their documented range are a 400, so a bad look fails at request time instead of rendering wrong. See caption design overrides.

What about Latin brand fonts?

The docs list no field for supplying a font file or Latin family, so a Latin brand font is not something you can set on Sume captions. Pick the closest style and set design colours, or add text in your own editor. See caption font requires a Hangul style for the error you get when the pairing is wrong.
