Sume Pro $40 or Startup $120 for a two-person team?

Pro is $40 with 4 concurrent jobs; Startup is $120 with 8 and a shared team workspace. How to decide with queue math instead of guesswork.

Two people sharing one Sume workspace face a choice between Pro and Startup. The difference is not a credit allotment; the pricing page does not list one. It is concurrency, queue capacity and the shared team workspace.

What each plan lists

Pro is $40 a month, adds 100+ video models, full Agent access, API, CLI and MCP access, a team wallet with on-demand billing, and 4 concurrent jobs. Startup is $120 a month and lists everything in Pro, a shared team workspace and 8 concurrent jobs. In the plan catalog, queue capacity is 20 on Pro and 40 on Startup.

The queue math

The difference is $80 a month for 4 more parallel jobs and 20 more queue slots. Test it with your own launch pattern. If two people submit 20 ads at once, Pro runs 4 at a time, so 5 waves of jobs; Startup runs 8 at a time, so 3 waves. Whether those waves cost you an hour or a day depends on the model, which I have not measured.

Things that do not change with the plan

  • A wallet top-up does not raise concurrency; the docs say concurrency is set by plan.
  • The price of each generation is the same on either plan, so Startup does not make a render cheaper.
  • A 402 insufficient_credits error means the wallet cannot cover the reservation, not that you hit a plan limit.

A decision rule

Start on Pro. Upgrade when you see jobs waiting in the queue during hours you are actually working, or when you want a shared workspace listed on the plan. Two people generating a few dozen assets a day rarely need more than 4 parallel jobs. If you do upgrade, compare the $80 difference to the value of a launch finishing earlier, and downgrade after the campaign.
