Storyboard a 3-minute Reel on Grok first: $2.25 vs a $22.50 render
Grok Imagine Video 1.5 bills $0.0125 a second and needs a still. A 180 s draft in 4 s shots costs $2.25, a tenth of a 180 s Wan render at $22.50.

Before paying for 180 seconds of final video, a cheap draft of the shot list can catch bad framing. grok-imagine-video-1.5 on Sume is image-to-video only, takes 4 to 15 seconds at 480p or 720p, and bills $0.0125 per second.
Draft vs final for 180 s
The comparison uses Wan 3.0 for the final at 720p and $0.125 a second. A Reel can run to 3 minutes, as NapoleonCat reports.
| Pass | Rate per second | 180 s |
|---|---|---|
| Grok draft | $0.0125 | $2.25 |
| Wan 3.0 final, 720p | $0.125 | $22.50 |
| Share spent on the draft | - | 10% |
How to run it
Grok takes no aspect_ratio, so send vertical stills. A 4-second shot is the minimum, which puts 45 shots in 180 seconds (45 x 4 s x $0.0125 = $2.25). You also need those stills: generate them first and count that cost separately.
What the draft cannot tell you
A Grok draft shows composition and pacing. It does not predict how a different model will move, so use it to approve shots, not motion.
