Smallest video each ad platform accepts, and Sume's 256 px floor
Meta Facebook Feed needs 120 px, Instagram Feed 250 px wide, LinkedIn 360 px, TikTok 540x960. Sume trim and Timeline output cannot go below 256 px.

The smallest video each platform accepts ranges from 120 px on Meta's Facebook Feed page to 540 x 960 for a vertical TikTok In-Feed ad. Sume's trim and Timeline output blocks accept widths and heights from 256 to 2160. That floor is above Meta's 120 px and 250 px and below the LinkedIn and TikTok sizes, so for those two you choose an output size from their lists.
Minimums from the vendor pages
Each row is from the page named, read on 2026-10-08. Platforms measure minimums differently, so the unit column says what the page counts.
| Platform | Minimum | Applies to |
|---|---|---|
| Meta Facebook Feed | 120 px | Page lists min 120 px |
| Meta Instagram Feed | 250 px | Minimum width |
| LinkedIn 16:9 | 640 x 360 | Video ad |
| LinkedIn 1:1 | 360 x 360 | Video ad |
| LinkedIn 4:5 | 360 x 450 | Video ad |
| LinkedIn 9:16 | 360 x 640 | Video ad |
| TikTok In-Feed vertical | 540 x 960 | Non-Spark ad |
| TikTok In-Feed 16:9 | 960 x 540 | Non-Spark ad |
| TikTok In-Feed square | 640 x 640 | Non-Spark ad |
Sume's own range
Video trim with exact precision and Timeline 1.0 both take output width and height as integers from 256 to 2160, and Timeline requires them to be even. That means a Sume render cannot be smaller than 256 on either side. The floor never blocks a LinkedIn or TikTok file, since their smallest sizes are 360 px or more, and it is higher than the Meta minimums, which no ad would use anyway.
In practice no platform in the table wants a file that small. The practical floor is the largest minimum on the list for your ratio.
| Tool | Width and height | Frame rate |
|---|---|---|
| Video trim (exact) | 256 to 2160 | 24, 25, 30, 60 |
| Timeline 1.0 | Even integers 256 to 2160 | 24, 25, 30, 60 or match sources |
Choosing a floor
Use the recommended size where the page gives one, and use the minimum only for a placement that you know is shown small. A minimum is what the platform accepts, not what looks good on a modern phone.
For a single file that clears every minimum above for its own ratio, the table points to 540 x 960 for vertical, 960 x 540 for horizontal and 640 x 640 for square. Those are the TikTok numbers, and they are the largest of the three platforms that state a minimum for each ratio.
- Vertical: 540 x 960 clears LinkedIn 360 x 640 and TikTok.
- Horizontal: 960 x 540 clears LinkedIn 640 x 360 and TikTok.
- Square: 640 x 640 clears LinkedIn 360 x 360 and TikTok.
- Instagram Feed's 250 px width and Facebook Feed's 120 px are cleared by all three.
Where to render
A Timeline render at these sizes costs $0.10 per output minute, so a 30 second vertical file at 540 x 960 is $0.10. A trim with an output block that conforms size is $0.02. Neither is cheaper at a smaller size, since the price is per job or per minute and not per pixel, so choose the larger recommended size when there is one.
