Shopify Winter '26 shoppable video in Shop: prepare your clips
Shopify's Winter '26 Edition adds shoppable video in Shop with AI ranking. How to prepare clips that fit Shopify's file limits, with Sume doing the cuts.

Shopify's Winter '26 Edition lists shoppable videos in the Shop app, ranked by AI, along with customizable Shop product pages. The edition page does not give a spec for the videos, so the safe preparation is to meet the video limits on Shopify's file upload page and keep the clips short, vertical and captioned. Sume can make and cut those clips.
What Shopify's two pages give you
The edition page names the feature but, in the text I read, not the file requirements. Those I took from the file page, which governs files you upload to a store.
| Item | Limit |
|---|---|
| Size | Up to 1 GB |
| Length | Up to 10 minutes |
| Formats | MOV, MP4, WEBM |
| Dimensions | 100 to 4096 px |
| Aspect ratios recommended | 16:9, 9:16, 4:3, 3:4, 1:1 |
| Frame rates recommended | 60, 30, 25 |
Prepare a store-ready clip
Aim for a clip that is well inside every limit: MP4, vertical, 30 fps, under a minute. A Sume video job returns an MP4, and the video trim endpoint can cut a long master to the exact length at $0.02 per job. If you add captions, use the standalone captions endpoint for burned-in text.
Name each file by product, so you can match the clip to its listing, and keep a clean copy without text. Shopify's limits do not apply to YouTube or Vimeo embeds, so a long explainer can live there.
- MP4 at 30 fps, under a minute.
- Vertical master, with a 1:1 or 16:9 cut if your theme needs one.
- Captions burned in for sound-off viewing.
Limits
I did not find ranking criteria for shoppable videos, and no tool, Sume included, can promise a clip will be ranked. Check availability for your store in the Shopify admin, since an edition item is not necessarily live for every merchant. Sume does not publish to Shopify.
