Shopify video limits: 1 GB, 10 min, and a 4K tier on Sume
Shopify product video reportedly allows up to 1 GB, 10 minutes and 4096x2160. Which Sume models reach a 4K tier and how to stay under the size cap.

The Shopify Help Center lists product video up to 1 GB, 10 minutes and 4096x2160. Sume's generated clips are far shorter than 10 minutes, and the docs list a 4K tier on gemini-omni-flash-1.1, so file size and dimensions are the checks that matter.

The Shopify figures are from that page, read on 2026-10-03; recheck it before you upload.
| Item | Shopify | Sume docs |
|---|---|---|
| Length | 10 min | 3-10 s (gemini-omni-flash-1.1), 4-30 s (seedance-2.5), 15 s cap on most others |
| Resolution | 4096x2160 | Tiers such as 720p, 1080p and 4K; pixel sizes are not published |
| File size | 1 GB | Not published; measure the download |
Where 4K is listed
The Video Router docs list gemini-omni-flash-1.1 at 3 to 10 seconds across 360p, 720p, 1080p and 4K, in 16:9 or 9:16, with synced audio always on. Seedance models list 480p to 1080p. The docs describe sume/auto with default 720p and 8 seconds and do not promise 4K, so pin the model id when you need that tier.
Request a 4K clip
Pin the model and resolution, then confirm what came back before uploading. 4K is a tier name here; check the real pixel dimensions of the file, since 4096x2160 is wider than a standard 16:9 frame.

}'Practical advice
Product pages rarely need 4K. Start at 720p, check the file, and only raise resolution if the page really shows it large. Billing is the provider list price times 1.25, so higher tiers cost more per output second.
