For a 15-second 1080p 16:9 clip, seedance-2 bills $12.76 and seedance-2.5 bills $21.33 on Sume. Both are billed by video token, and the newer row is about 1.67 times the older one at this size.

What you get for the difference is length: seedance-2 stops at 15 seconds, while seedance-2.5 runs 4 to 30 seconds.

Where the numbers come from

Seedance is billed on video tokens: width x height x seconds x 24 / 1024. At 1080p and 16:9 that is 1920 x 1080. fal's Seedance 2.5 page, read 2026-10-05, lists $0.0214 per 1,000 tokens at 480p and 720p and $0.0234 at 1080p. The Sume per-second figures here are the documented list rates times 1.25, and a reference video would multiply the cost by 0.6 per the Sume pricing rules (not used here).

Price by length

When 2.5 is worth it

Pick 2.5 when the shot has to run longer than 15 seconds, or when you want the newer row. A 30-second 1080p clip is $42.65, so it is a deliberate spend. If the shot fits in 15 seconds, seedance-2 at 1080p saves $8.57 per clip. The cheaper rows, seedance-2-fast and seedance-2-mini, stop at 720p.

Neither 2 nor 2.5 is selected by sume/auto; send the id explicitly. See the 1080p token-rate post for why the higher resolution step is steeper than it looks.
