Seedance 2.5 vs 2.0, Fast and Mini: Which Tier and What It Costs
Four Seedance tiers on Sume, with clip limits, per-1,000-token rates and the real price of a 15-second 720p clip at each tier.

Sume carries four Seedance tiers: 2.5, 2.0, 2.0 Fast and 2.0 Mini. ByteDance announced Seedance 2.5 on July 31, 2026, with up to 30 seconds per generation and joint audio-video generation. The tiers share an input vocabulary, so the decision is mostly about length and price.
Same inputs, different ceilings
All four accept text-to-video, first and last frame, and image, video and audio references. The 2.0 family stops at 15 seconds; seedance-2.5 goes from 4 to 30 seconds. Seedance is priced per 1,000 video tokens, and for a 720p 16:9 clip at 24 fps that works out to roughly 21,600 tokens per second.
| Model | List per 1k tokens | Sume per second | 15 seconds |
|---|---|---|---|
| seedance-2.5 | $0.0214 | about $0.578 | about $8.66 |
| seedance-2 | $0.014 | about $0.378 | about $5.67 |
| seedance-2-fast | $0.0112 | about $0.302 | about $4.54 |
| seedance-2-mini | $0.007 | about $0.189 | about $2.84 |
Reading the gap
2.5 costs about 53 percent more per second than 2.0, and about three times Mini. Reference videos raise the billed amount further, since the reference's own length is counted. At 1080p, 2.5 uses a slightly higher token rate of $0.0234 per 1,000 tokens.
Runway's pricing page lists Seedance 2.5 at 20, 30 and 68 credits for 480p, 720p and 1080p with an 80-credit minimum, and Seedance 2 at 36 credits at 480p and 720p. At $0.01 a credit that is $0.30 per second for 2.5 at 720p against about $0.578 on Sume, and $0.36 for 2.0 against about $0.378, so Runway is cheaper at both; compare at your own resolution.
Which to pick
Choose 2.5 when the shot runs past 15 seconds or needs the largest reference set. Choose 2.0 for the standard 4 to 15 second clip. Choose Fast for iteration rounds and Mini for animatics and tests. The docs do not claim a quality ranking, so judge with one real shot before buying a batch.
