Seedance 2.5 cost per second on Sume: 480p, 720p, 1080p worked out

Seedance is priced per token, not per second. Worked from Sume's rate tables: about $0.27, $0.58 and $1.42 per second at 480p, 720p and 1080p, 16:9.

Most video models quote a price per second. Seedance 2.5 does not: it is priced per 1,000 video tokens, and the token count depends on the resolution. That makes a quick "what does one second cost" answer awkward, so here is the arithmetic, done from the numbers in Sume's own rate tables.

The rate: Sume's provider list for Seedance 2.5 is $0.0214 per 1,000 tokens (and $0.0234 at 1080p). Sume bills list times 1.25, as the Video API docs states for every video model.

From tokens to seconds

Sume estimates video tokens as height times width times seconds times 24 frames, divided by 1,024. For a 16:9 clip, the pixel dimensions Sume uses are 864 by 496 at 480p, 1280 by 720 at 720p and 1920 by 1080 at 1080p. One second is therefore about 10,044 tokens at 480p, 21,600 at 720p and 48,600 at 1080p.

A cross-check against the catalog

Sume's published catalog gives an estimate for the default Video 1.0 clip: Seedance 2.5, 720p, 9:16, 4 seconds, at $2.3112. The same arithmetic reproduces it: 720 by 1280 pixels is the same pixel count as 1280 by 720, so 4 seconds is 86,400 tokens, which is $1.8490 at list and $2.3112 after the 1.25 multiplier. The model also accepts clips from 4 to 30 seconds.

What a clip costs

At 720p, a 10-second clip is about $5.78 and a 30-second clip about $17.33. At 480p, 10 seconds is about $2.69. Seedance 2.5 is the most expensive per second of the models discussed here, so use it where you need what it does, and draft cheaper elsewhere.

The snippet reproduces the table from first principles.

list_per_1000_tokens = {'480p': 0.0214, '720p': 0.0214, '1080p': 0.0234}
size = {'480p': (864, 496), '720p': (1280, 720), '1080p': (1920, 1080)}
for res, (w, h) in size.items():
    tokens = w * h * 24 / 1024
    list_cost = tokens / 1000 * list_per_1000_tokens[res]
    print(f'{res}: {tokens:,.0f} tokens/s, list {list_cost:.4f}, Sume {list_cost * 1.25:.3f}')
