A 30-second Seedance 2.5 clip in 16:9 costs $8.0603 at 480p, $17.334 at 720p and $42.6465 at 1080p when you call it through Sume. Seedance 2.5 is the longest-running Seedance model in the Sume catalog: it accepts 4 to 30 seconds, while the Seedance 2.0 family stops at 15.

Seedance is priced per video token, not per second, so the price moves with resolution and aspect ratio as well as length. The figures below come from the formula in the Sume pricing package and the catalog rates, as of 2026-10-08.

Seedance 2.5, 16:9, 30 seconds, no reference video. Sume catalog values, read from the repo and docs as of 2026-10-08; Sume price = provider list x 1.25
ResolutionPixels (16:9)Video tokensProvider listSume price
480p864x496301,320$6.4482$8.0603
720p1280x720648,000$13.8672$17.334
1080p1920x10801,458,000$34.1172$42.6465

The arithmetic

Sume estimates video tokens as width x height x seconds x 24 fps / 1024, rounded up. For 720p in 16:9 the frame is 1280x720, so 30 seconds is 1280 x 720 x 30 x 24 / 1024 = 648,000 tokens.

Seedance 2.5 lists at $0.0214 per 1,000 tokens at 480p and 720p, and at $0.0234 per 1,000 tokens at 1080p. That gives 648,000 / 1000 x 0.0214 = $13.8672 at 720p and 1,458,000 / 1000 x 0.0234 = $34.1172 at 1080p. Sume then multiplies the list by 1.25 for the house margin.

  • 720p: $13.8672 x 1.25 = $17.334
  • 1080p: $34.1172 x 1.25 = $42.6465

What the vendor page says

The fal model page for Seedance 2.5 text-to-video describes the model as generating native 30-second single-shot video at up to 720p from one prompt (fal page, read 2026-10-08). The Sume catalog, however, lists 1080p for seedance-2.5 and carries a separate token rate for it. Check supported_resolutions from GET /v1/videos/models on your own key before you plan around 1080p, because that response is what Sume validates against.

Request shape

Pin the model with seedance-2.5 on POST /v1/videos. Pass duration, resolution and aspect_ratio explicitly so the reserve at submit time matches the figures above. Sume reserves the provider list x 1.25 at submit and reports the billable amount in usage.cost on the poll response.

curl -X POST https://api.sume.com/v1/videos \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SUME_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "Idempotency-Key: seed25-30s-001" \
  -d '{"model":"seedance-2.5","prompt":"A slow dolly through a night market","resolution":"720p","aspect_ratio":"16:9","duration":30}'

When to use a shorter clip

Because token count is linear in seconds, a 15-second clip at the same settings costs half. If you only need a hero shot, 5 seconds at 720p is 108,000 tokens, which is about $2.89 on Sume (108,000 / 1000 x 0.0214 = $2.3112 list, x 1.25 = $2.889). Reserve the 30-second length for scenes that cannot be cut together from shorter takes.

Two other levers change the number. Aspect ratio barely matters: at 720p, 16:9 and 9:16 are both 921,600 pixels, 1:1 (960x960) is the same, and 21:9 (1470x630) is 926,100, under one percent more. A reference video input adds a billing rule that is covered in a separate post on the 60 percent reference-video price.

Checklist before you submit

  • Send duration as a whole number between 4 and 30; Sume clamps estimates to that range.
  • Send resolution and aspect_ratio explicitly instead of relying on defaults.
  • Send an Idempotency-Key so a retry returns the original job rather than a second charge.
  • Use callback_url for long clips instead of polling every few seconds.
