ByteDance retires Seedance 1.5 Pro on November 11, 2026, according to a changelog entry read 2026-09-30: no new generations, and the model stops working on that date. The Sume video docs name seedance-2.5 and seedance-2; this post does not claim Sume offers 1.5 Pro.

What does the retirement notice say?

The ElevenLabs changelog says the model is no longer offered for new generations and will stop working on November 11, 2026, and points to a Seedance 2.0 model instead. That is a vendor notice about a vendor product; it is not a statement about Sume's catalog.

Which Seedance ids does Sume list?

Seedance ids named in the Sume video docs, read 2026-09-30: https://docs.sume.com/models/videos
IdWhat the docs say
seedance-2.5Accepts 4–30 seconds at 480p, 720p and 1080p
seedance-2Also offers 1080p; other catalog models top out at 15 seconds

How should I write the model id?

Sume uses bare catalog ids such as seedance-2; its published contract never carries a provider-org prefix. If a request fails with model not found, verify the id against the Video Models API, since unknown ids fail validation.

What should I do before the cutoff?

Query the video models endpoint for the current ids and limits, switch your model value, and re-test prompts, since a different model version can respond differently. Prices differ by model; see Seedance 2.5 price per second and Seedance 2.5 vs 2.0.
