Runway ProRes and PNG sequence: 5 credits per second extra
Runway adds 5 credits per second for ProRes and png_sequence, 20 for 10-bit or HDR, on Gen-4.5 and Aleph 2.0. A 10-second example and Sume's video pricing.

Runway adds a surcharge per second of output on top of the model rate: 5 credits per second for prores and png_sequence, and 20 credits per second for 10-bit and HDR profiles such as hdr10 and hlg. The HDR surcharge is 40 per second when the output is larger than 4 megapixels. These formats are available on Gen-4.5 and Aleph 2.0.
Sume's docs I read describe no ProRes or PNG sequence output; its video guide saves results as MP4 and prices each model per request. Read 2026-10-01.
What does a 10-second Gen-4.5 clip cost with each format?
Gen-4.5 is listed at 12 credits per second, so 10 seconds is 120 credits before any surcharge. At $0.01 per credit:
| Output | Surcharge per second | Total credits | USD |
|---|---|---|---|
| Base only | 0 | 120 | $1.20 |
prores or png_sequence | 5 | 170 | $1.70 |
| 10-bit or HDR profile | 20 | 320 | $3.20 |
| 10-bit or HDR, over 4 megapixels | 40 | 520 | $5.20 |
Is the surcharge per clip or per second?
Per second of output. A 10-second ProRes clip adds 50 credits; a 10-second HDR clip adds 200. Short clips keep the surcharge small, and the larger-than-4-megapixel step is the one to watch.
How does Sume price video?
Sume has no delivery-format surcharge in the docs read. A video request is estimated before the job: paid generation uses public Sume USD estimates, and the amount is reserved on submit at provider list × 1.25. The workspace balance is in USD. See how Sume pricing works.
What if I need a professional intermediate?
Check the output formats of the model you plan to use in the video docs before committing; if the format you need is not listed, the format is a reason to choose a vendor that offers it. For higher-resolution deliverables, see AI video upscale API.
