Rightmove listing video: host it online and check for personal data
Rightmove takes a video as a URL plus caption, and you become the data controller. Review stills and the transcript with Sume video inspect before you share.

On Rightmove you do not upload a video file. You host the video online and paste its link, with a caption, into the listing. Rightmove's guidance also says that by sharing it you become the data controller, so nothing that shows personal data should be visible. That makes a review step worth doing before you share, and Sume video inspect can sample stills and a transcript for it.
What does Rightmove say?
Because the page names no specs, this post gives none. Check the current Rightmove guidance before you publish.
| Topic | What the page says |
|---|---|
| Where the video lives | Hosted online: YouTube, Vimeo, or an externally hosted secure link |
| What you enter | The URL plus a caption |
| Responsibility | You become the data controller, so no personal data should be visible |
| File specs | No size or length limits are stated on the page |
How do I review the clip before sharing?
Video inspect reads a clip you already host on media.sume.com. It returns a probe and stills as durable images. Use frames: { "fps": 0.4 } for a 60-second walkthrough, which samples up to 24 stills across it (the fps is capped at 2 and the call at 24 stills). Add transcribe: true to get the spoken words as text. Transcription is billed at $0.01 per audio minute, on top of the Modal compute for the stills.
Look for family photos on walls, post, number plates, a visible house number, and names in the voiceover. A clip made from your own listing photos can still show these in the background.
curl -X POST https://api.sume.com/v1/video-inspect \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $SUME_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-H "Idempotency-Key: listing-review-0412" \
-d '{
"video_url": "https://media.sume.com/artifacts/artf_demo/tour.mp4",
"frames": { "fps": 0.4 },
"transcribe": true
}'What if something shows?
Cut the shot with Video trim (a flat $0.02 per job) or regenerate the scene. Then run the same check again on the new file. Keep the reviewed version, not the first one, as the file you host.
The hosting step is yours. Upload the final MP4 to YouTube or Vimeo, or to a secure link you control, then paste the URL and the caption into the Rightmove listing. If you use a Sume-hosted URL as the link, confirm with Rightmove that it counts as an externally hosted secure link.
