Recast one holiday ad for four markets: fal vs Sume cost
Four 15-second Recast runs cost $18.00 at fal's $0.30 a second and $22.50 on Sume at $0.375 a second, both at 768p. See the math and what the gap buys.

Recasting a 15-second holiday ad with four different people, one per market, costs $18.00 at fal's list price and $22.50 on Sume. Both use H3 Max Recast at 768p, so the $4.50 gap is the price of Sume's pricing and not a different model.
The fal figure comes from the H3 Max Recast page, read on 2026-10-04: $0.30 per second of output at 768p and $0.45 at 1080p, reference images included at no extra charge, up to 30 seconds per video. On Sume, H3 Max Recast takes 5 to 30 seconds and 1 to 4 reference photos, and bills $0.375 per second at 768p, the default.
The four-market math
One run swaps the people in the source for the people in your photos and keeps the motion, camera and cuts. Four markets means four runs, each with its own reference photos, so cost scales linearly.
| Provider | Rate per second | One 15 s run | Four runs |
|---|---|---|---|
| fal | $0.30 | $4.50 | $18.00 |
| Sume | $0.375 | $5.625 | $22.50 |
When 768p is enough
For vertical ads watched on a phone, 768p is the cheaper tier on both sides. At 1080p fal lists $0.45 per second, so the same four runs would be $27.00 there. Test the 768p output on a real device before you pay for the larger frame.
The video generation docs list Recast as one source video plus one to four person photos. A 15-second ad fits inside the 5 to 30 second range.
What the gap buys
On Sume the Recast result is a job in the same workspace as trims, captions and Timeline renders, with one key and one bill. If the swap is a single step in a larger pipeline, that is worth something. If Recast is the only thing you run, the vendor's own price is lower and the table says so.
A fair summary: pick fal for a bare Recast run, and pick Sume when the next step is already on Sume.
