Rask AI minute credits and 3x lip-sync vs a Sume dubbing pipeline

Rask bills 1 credit per video minute for Standard lip-sync, 3 for Enhanced. Sume has no dubbing endpoint; a chained pipeline runs about $0.55-$1.55 per 10 min.

Rask AI bills in minute credits: Standard lip-sync uses one credit per video minute and Enhanced lip-sync uses three. Sume does not sell a dubbing product, but its pieces (audio detach, speech-to-text, text to speech, timeline audio and a render) can be chained, and for a 10-minute video they come to roughly $0.55 without a re-render and about $1.55 with one, under stated assumptions.

Rask figures are from its pricing page, read on 2026-10-02. Sume rates come from the linked docs and the pricing code; they are arithmetic, not a quote.

What does Rask charge?

The page lists a free trial with 3 minutes, Creator at $39 a month or $28 a month billed $329 a year for 300 minutes a year, Creator Pro at $99 or $67 billed $799 a year for 1,200 minutes, Business at $249 or $167 billed $1,999 a year for 3,000 minutes, and custom Enterprise. Enhanced lip-sync uses 3 credits per video minute and Standard lip-sync 1. Translation reaches over 135 languages, voice cloning 32. Annual plans roll unused minutes over, and Business lists extra minutes at $3 each. API access is limited on Creator Pro and production-grade on Business.

What would a dubbing pipeline cost on Sume?

Assume a 10-minute video with continuous speech at 150 words per minute and 6 characters per word, so about 9,000 characters of translated script. These are assumptions to size the bill, not measurements.

Detach the audio: $0.01 per job. Transcribe it: Sume STT is $0.01 per audio minute and accepts up to 10 minutes per job, so about $0.10. Translate the text with a model of your choice; Sume has no translation endpoint. Synthesize: roughly $0.0475 per 1,000 characters, about $0.43. Join takes with timeline audio: $0.01. That is about $0.55. To put the new voice back on the picture, a timeline render is $0.10 per output minute, about $1.00 for 10 minutes, for a total near $1.55.

What does the pipeline look like in calls?

Every write needs an Idempotency-Key, and detach requires a video already on media.sume.com. The detach below produces the 16 kHz mono WAV that speech-to-text expects.

curl -X POST https://api.sume.com/v1/audio-detach \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SUME_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \

  -d '{

    "channels": "mono",
    "sample_rate": 16000
  }'

Where does the Sume bill come from, line by line?

The table lists each step with its basis. Only the TTS line depends on the speaking-rate assumption.

Speech-to-text$0.01 per audio minute, 10 minutes$0.10

What does Sume not do that Rask does?

Three gaps are worth stating. Sume does not re-animate the mouth of the speaker in an existing video to match new audio, so there is no equivalent of Rask's lip-sync tiers; lip-sync on Sume is a still image plus audio through Avatar. It does not translate text or clone a voice from a sample through a route we found in the API reference. And it does not fit the translated speech to the original timing for you: the sentence segments from STT give you the times, and you split, speed-adjust (TTS speed runs 0.6 to 1.5) and join takes yourself.

In exchange you pay per job, with no monthly plan and no annual minute pool to waste. If you dub a handful of videos a month, that can be cheaper than Creator's $329 a year; if you dub hundreds of minutes, Rask's Creator Pro rate of about $0.67 a minute includes translation and voice cloning that this pipeline leaves to you.
