Do punch and tiktok-green captions accept design overrides? No
In Sume video captions, punch and tiktok-green do not support design: they render on a path that reads none of the tokens. Use another style to tune.

No. The Sume caption docs state that punch and tiktok-green do not support design. These two styles render on a path that reads none of the design tokens, so a request that expects a recolor or a new placement will not get one. If you need to tune colors, typography, placement, phrasing or motion, pick a style that does support design, such as slam or one of the Hangul identities.
What each style choice gives you
The docs list slam, punch, tiktok-green and korean-ad as selectable styles, plus six Hangul identities. They split along one line: Latin display faces versus Hangul faces, and tunable versus fixed.
| Style | Typeface family | Design overrides | Hangul text |
|---|---|---|---|
slam | Latin display | Yes | Rejected with 400 |
punch | Latin display | No | Rejected with 400 |
tiktok-green | Latin display | No | Rejected with 400 |
korean-ad | Pretendard | Yes | Yes |
black-outline | Do Hyeon | Yes | Yes |
Reading the table
The rows for slam, punch and tiktok-green come from the docs' rule that these styles use Latin display faces with no Hangul glyphs. A Korean caption on them returns caption_hangul_text_latin_style. The design row for punch and tiktok-green comes from the docs' note that they do not support overrides; the slam row follows the docs' statement that design merges over a style's tokens and that only these two are excepted.
Do not look for a hidden workaround. The API does not change the style of a job to something you did not select, and it does not ignore bad tokens silently on the styles that support them.
A practical route
If a campaign needs the green look of tiktok-green and a brand color, you cannot recolor it through design. You can keep the style as is, or choose slam and set design.colors.active yourself. Burn both on the same clip using source_caption_id so the transcript is shared, and judge the result on the phone, not on a monitor.
- A restyle costs a normal $0.20 job under the current estimate for clips up to 60 seconds.
script_textstill works withpunch, as in the docs' own example.- Check the live price in

Cost of the experiment
Because overrides are not available on these two styles, the only way to compare looks is to run separate renders. With the restyle path that is $0.20 per look under the estimate for clips up to 60 seconds. Comparing punch, tiktok-green and a tuned slam on one video is 3 x $0.20 = $0.60, and only the first needs a transcription.
