Privacy policy update explainer: a 40-second avatar video
Explain a privacy policy change in 40 seconds with a Sume avatar: three scenes, captions on, legal review before render. Cost by tier and a script checklist.
A privacy policy update can be explained in a 40-second Sume avatar video with captions, if the script is plain and your legal owner has approved every sentence before you render. At 40 seconds with captions it costs $7.56 on Standard, $10.00 on Plus and $22.20 on Max, including the fixed $0.20 caption add-on.
This is a communication aid, not legal advice or a substitute for the policy itself: the video should point to the written policy, never replace it. Mechanics are from Sume's avatar video guide, read 2026-10-04.
Structure of the clip
| Scene | Seconds | Content |
|---|---|---|
| what-changed | 15 | One sentence naming the change |
| what-it-means | 15 | What the customer can do or see |
| where-to-read | 10 | Where the full policy lives |
Cost by tier
| Item | Standard | Plus | Max |
|---|---|---|---|
| One explainer, no captions | $7.36 | $9.80 | $22.00 |
| One explainer, captions on | $7.56 | $10.00 | $22.20 |
| Two aspect ratios, captions on | $15.12 | $20.00 | $44.40 |
Review gates
Approve the text before you spend money on the render, and use a preview to check the frame. Reserve Plus or Max for the version that goes live.
- Legal owner signs the script as final text.
- A second person reads it against the written policy.
- Captions are on, and the words match the script.
- The clip links to the written policy, not the other way around.
- The generated-presenter note is in the first caption.
Request body
The captions object is optional; slam is the default style for Latin text.

Keep the approved script with the video URL for your records. If the policy changes again, render a new clip rather than reusing the old one.
