Premiere 26.5 ProRes RAW and ARRICORE: send Sume a deliverable

Premiere 26.5 adds Sony FX5, ProRes RAW and ARRICORE support. Sume takes a public HTTPS video URL, so export a deliverable first, then probe it before spending.

Premiere 26.5 adds support for Sony FX5, ProRes RAW and ARRICORE footage. Those are camera originals. Sume's routes take a fetchable public HTTPS video, or Sume-hosted media after an import, and the docs do not list camera RAW formats as inputs. Export an H.264 MP4 from Premiere, host it, then use Sume.

What to do with the export

Probe first with video-inspect and frames: false, which is free. Then pick the next step: trim for short cuts, captions for burned text, or a Timeline 1.0 render to join pieces. Trim and detach sources must be Sume-hosted, so import the file with the media-imports route. Caption jobs are $0.20 up to 60 seconds.

Why not send the original

Camera originals are large and need a decoder. A mezzanine export keeps the pixels you graded and gives Sume a normal file. Sume's exact trim writes yuv420p regardless, so grade in your editor before delivery.

Honest limits

  • The docs do not name every accepted codec; the probe is how you find out.
  • Large files take time to upload; plan for it.
  • Premiere's post does not mention Sume; this is a workflow note, not an integration.
