Ten portfolio photos make a 60-second reel when each becomes a 6-second Omni clip: $7.50 at 720p on Sume ($0.75 per photo), $11.25 at 1080p, or $2.25 as 360p drafts. Use each photo as the image_url and ask for a small camera move. Rates read 2026-10-08. Make the moves modest; a photographer's reel loses credibility when the picture changes.

The photographer's concern is fidelity: the clip should look like the print.

Moves that keep the photo intact

Ask for a camera move and nothing else. Google's tips recommend Keep everything else the same when you change one thing.

  • Slow push-in or slow pan across the frame.
  • Gentle parallax with foreground and background separated.
  • Subtle atmospheric motion: mist, leaves, light.
  • No people moving in portraits unless the shot needs it.
  • Say No dialogue and name the sound: wind, room tone, quiet music.

Cost

Run a 360p draft of each photo, then pay for finals only for the ones you keep.

Rights and limits

Only upload photos you own the rights to. Google says certain recognizable people are unsupported and that uploaded images with minors are refused in the EEA, Switzerland and the UK, so a portrait series with children may fail there. Aspect ratios are 16:9 and 9:16, so a 3:2 landscape print will be changed to fit; check what is cropped in the draft. Google also states that Omni videos carry a SynthID watermark, which you may mention in your portfolio notes. Order the clips in your editor and lay one music bed under all ten.

Batch the ten photos

Ten requests with the same prompt template and different images is a small batch. Pro allows 4 running jobs and 24 accepted at a time, so the ten finish in about three waves. Keep a list of the image URL, the job id and the result so a failed photo can be resubmitted alone.

Submit with an Idempotency-Key header so a retry after a dropped connection returns the original job instead of a second charge; the same key with a different payload returns 409. Then poll GET /v1/jobs/:id/status and fetch GET /v1/jobs/:id/result when it finishes.
