Open house promo reel: date, time and address over listing photos
Make a vertical open house reel from listing photos: a silent Timeline 1.0 render, then burn date, time and address as caption cues. Rates and limits included.

To make an open house promo reel, assemble 6 to 10 listing photos into a vertical Timeline 1.0 render with a silent audio spine, then run one Video captions job with cues that carry the date, time and address. The result is a 15 to 30 second MP4 at the default 1080 by 1920. Timeline 1.0 holds each still for the duration you declare and charges $0.10 per output minute rounded up; the caption job is $0.20 for a video up to 60 seconds. Rates are from the Sume docs, read 2026-10-03, so confirm them in GET /v1/catalog first.
Step 1: render the photo tour without text
Photos must be on your workspace's media.sume.com first, through an upload or import; there is no open-internet fetch in Timeline. Declare audio: { mode: "silence", duration_seconds: 24 } and eight video[] slots of 3 seconds each. video[0].start must be 0, later starts must increase, and stills are static holds. Add transition: { type: "fade", duration: 0.25 } on slots after the first if you want soft cuts. Leave the date off this render, so the same master serves every open house.
Step 2: burn the event details as cues
Silent footage has no speech to transcribe, so a caption job without cues would fail as caption_no_speech. Pass cues with text, start and end instead; this skips speech-to-text.
| Cue | Start | End | Text |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 0 | 4 | Open house |
| 2 | 4 | 12 | Saturday, 1 to 3 pm |
| 3 | 12 | 20 | 12 Example Street |
| 4 | 20 | 24 | Message us to book a showing |
Step 3: keep the master, change the cues
Next week's open house is the same photo tour with different cues, so keep the clean Step 1 render and run only the caption job again: $0.20 instead of re-rendering. Check the caption position against Shorts and Reels interface zones with design.placement; the safe-zone note is in place burned-in captions with anchor_ratio.
This does not verify that your listing details are accurate or that the photos are unedited. If you used AI-edited photos, disclose that where your local rules require it.
