Omni Flash 360p drafts then 1080p final: $3.75 vs $11.25 on Sume
Five 10-second Omni drafts at 360p plus one 1080p final cost $3.75 on Sume. Six 1080p takes cost $11.25. Sume rates per second, with the trade-offs.

On Sume, five 10-second Gemini Omni Flash drafts at 360p plus one 1080p final cost $3.75, which is $1.875 for the drafts and $1.875 for the final. Six takes straight at 1080p would cost $11.25, so the draft-first plan costs a third as much.
The plan works when a 360p take tells you whether the idea is right, and it fails when the idea depends on fine detail.
Per-second rates
Sume bills $0.0375 a second at 360p, $0.125 at 720p, $0.1875 at 1080p and $0.375 at 4K for gemini-omni-flash-1.1. A 10-second clip is $0.375, $1.25, $1.875 and $3.75.
The table prices the same six-take project three ways.
| Plan | Calculation | Total |
|---|---|---|
| All six at 1080p | 6 x $1.875 | $11.25 |
| Five 360p drafts + 1080p final | 5 x $0.375 + $1.875 | $3.75 |
| Five 360p drafts + 720p final | 5 x $0.375 + $1.25 | $3.125 |
| Five 720p drafts + 1080p final | 5 x $1.25 + $1.875 | $8.125 |
What a 360p draft can and cannot tell you
It shows composition, motion direction, pacing, and whether the prompt was understood. It does not show text legibility, small faces, fine textures or product labels. If a logo has to be readable, a 360p take cannot confirm it.
The model is the same at every resolution, but we have not compared what a 360p take predicts about a 1080p take, so treat the cheap draft as a screen for bad ideas, not a preview of the final frame.
Making the final match
Send the same prompt, aspect ratio and duration for the final. If the draft used an image or a first frame, send the same input again. Change one thing at a time between takes, as described in the post on iterating one change at a time.
Audio is always on and cannot be switched off for this model, so a draft also tests the sound. Sume's docs state that the API rejects generate_audio set to false.
Ten seconds on Sume
A single 10-second Omni clip is the largest one request on Sume. For a 30-second film the same plan is three shots. With five 360p drafts and one 1080p final per shot, that is three times $3.75, or $11.25. With two drafts per shot it is three times $2.625, or $7.875. Decide the draft count per shot, and write it next to the shot list before you spend.
When to skip drafts
If you plan one clip only, go straight to the resolution you need. Drafts save money only when you expect several rejected takes.
