Nonprofit donor thank-you: three tiered avatar videos, total cost
Three 20-second thank-you videos, one per giving tier, cost $11.04 in total at standard. See how to script them and why you review a preview first.
Donors who get a personal thank-you give again more often than donors who get a receipt. A small team cannot record a message for every gift, but it can record three: one for first-time donors, one for repeat donors and one for major donors. This post prices that set and shows the request.
Three videos, one avatar
Create one avatar for the executive director or a neutral presenter ($0.95), and write three scripts of about 50 words each. Each is 20 seconds. At standard, 20 seconds costs 20 x $0.184 = $3.68, so three cost $11.04. At plus, each is $4.90 and the set is $14.70.
| Quality | One video | Three videos |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | $3.68 each | $11.04 |
| Plus (default) | $4.90 each | $14.70 |
| Max | $11.00 each | $33.00 |
Scripts that stay true
Do not let an avatar say it "personally" wrote to the donor, or imply the executive director recorded it live. Say "On behalf of everyone here, thank you". If the avatar is based on a real person, get their written consent. State in the email that the video is AI-generated.
Review before you send
Run a preview with POST /v1/avatar-video-previews for each script. Check the face, the framing and the spelling of the organisation's name in any caption, then call generate-video from the approved preview. Because previews are independent of tier, you can generate at standard and upgrade only the major-donor video to plus.
curl -X POST https://api.sume.com/v1/avatar-1.0/talking-video \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $SUME_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"avatar_handle":"@host","quality":"plus","aspect_ratio":"9:16","script":"Thank you for giving for the first time. Your gift buys a week of meals for a family. We will send you an update in the spring."}'Send them with care
Name the tier in the filename so the right clip goes to the right list. If you need the clip to reach donors by email, link to the MP4 URL from the job result rather than attaching a file. Keep a record of which script went to which group, since a thank-you that promises a spring update creates an obligation to send one.
