A 5-second MiniMax clip costs 32 cents at 480p on both models on Sume. At 768p, minimax-h3 is 38 cents and minimax-h3-max is 50. 1080p is available on H3 Max at $1.00; H3 reaches 2K and 4K only as billed upscales.

What each model offers

Per the Sume video models docs, minimax-h3 takes 5 to 15 seconds at native 480p or 768p, and Sume bills 2K and 4K upscales when you request them. minimax-h3-max is the faster 768p variant with 480p, 768p and 1080p (1080p is a latent refinement from native 768p) for 5 to 15 seconds. Neither accepts 720p.

How to choose by price

At 768p, Max costs a third more than H3 (50 against 38 cents). If you want 1080p, H3 Max at $1.00 for 5 seconds is the same price as H3's 4K upscale; they are different outputs, so choose by the resolution you ship.

For the cheapest test, use 480p on either; there is no price difference. Only the table's 768p and above rows separate them. Where 4K fits among other models is in the 4K price post.

  • 480p: identical price.
  • 768p: Max costs about a third more.
  • 1080p only on Max, 4K only as an H3 upscale.

Budgeting a test run

Ten 5-second drafts at 480p cost $3.20 on either model. Promote the best three to 768p: $1.14 on H3 or $1.50 on H3 Max. The 1080p final of one H3 Max clip is $1.00. A complete path of ten drafts, three checks and one 1080p final is $5.70 on H3 Max, against $4.34 on H3 with no 1080p.

The right choice depends on delivered resolution and what each model does with your inputs, both covered in the Video Router docs. H3 Max is the faster 768p variant, so time may matter more than cents when you are iterating.

How these numbers were produced

These figures come from Sume's own price estimators, run on 2026-10-06 through estimateMinimaxH3ProviderCost for minimax-h3 and minimax-h3-max, covering native tiers and upscales at 5 and 15 seconds. The output fields are billableAmountUsdMicros and billableAmountUsdCents; the tables show the cents.

These are estimates of the billed amount for the stated settings. Anything not in the table, such as a different frame shape, a reference input or a changed quality tier, can change the number, so run the estimate for your own request before a large batch. Where this page and the public API pricing list disagree, the pricing page and the live quote win.
