MiniMax H3 Max 1080p: docs list 768P, Sume lists 1080p
MiniMax's own guide gives H3 Max 480P and 768P. Sume's minimax-h3-max row also lists 1080p. Here is the gap, and what the extra tier means for you.

Does MiniMax H3 Max do 1080p? The vendor's current guide says no: it lists 480P and 768P for H3 Max, and 768P and 2K for H3. Sume's minimax-h3-max catalog row additionally lists 1080p, which the code treats as a refinement of a 768p result rather than a native tier. If you need native 1080p, read that distinction before you pick it.
Side by side
The MiniMax video generation guide, read 2026-10-06, gives H3 4 to 15 second integer durations and H3 Max 5 to 15 seconds. Both take up to 9 images, 3 videos and 3 audio clips, 12 files combined.
| Model | Vendor guide resolutions | Vendor guide duration | Sume row |
|---|---|---|---|
| H3 | 768P, 2K | 4-15 s | minimax-h3: 480p/768p native, 2K and 4K upscales priced, 5-15 s |
| H3 Max | 480P, 768P | 5-15 s | minimax-h3-max: 480p, 768p, 1080p, 5-15 s |
Why the tiers differ
Sume's catalog notes that its 1080p for H3 Max is a latent refinement from the 768p stage, and that some 1080p image-to-video clips show a crop jump after the first two frames. That is a Sume-side tier, not something the MiniMax guide promises. Treat it as an upscale-style option and compare the clip against a 768p run before you commit a batch.
Billing follows the Sume list price times 1.25: H3 Max rows come out at $0.0625, $0.10 and $0.20 per second for 480p, 768p and 1080p, from list rates of $0.05, $0.08 and $0.16.
How to choose
Confirm the live values from GET /v1/videos/models described in the Sume docs, since a catalog can change after this post.
- Need native 768p with up to 12 mixed reference files: either model works; H3 Max starts at 5 seconds.
- Need a 4-second clip: the vendor guide allows 4 seconds on H3, while Sume's row starts at 5 seconds.
- Need 1080p: request
minimax-h3-max, inspect the first frames, and fall back to 768p if you see the crop jump.
Reference limits are the same
Both H3 and H3 Max accept the same mixed references in MiniMax's guide, so the tier choice does not change how many files you can attach. The guide gives first and last frame images 256 to 5760 pixels, with an aspect ratio from 2:5 to 5:2, and a prompt of up to 7000 characters. Images may be JPG, PNG, WEBP, HEIC or HEIF up to 30 MB, video must be H.264 or H.265 up to 50 MB, and audio WAV or MP3 up to 15 MB. The request body may be up to 64 MB in total.
